Tarantella - Hamburg

Tarantella offers a wide range of Fisch, Vegetables and meat. The thmosphere is really nice, however it is mostly visited by people over the age of 40, which makes it a little bit stiff. This is most likely because of the high quality and the matching prices.I orded lamb from the menu of the day and it was excellent. The waiter told us it was with a crust out of herbs. This was a false information, but it it still tasted goog.The wine selection is also fine and the creme brulee as a desert was a perfect ending. My date ordered the same main, but the chocolate mousse in a waffle roll. This unfornuately was not my dates and also not my taste - hard to eat, heavy and the rolls weren't handmade.So overall I had a nice evening, with a little room for improvement.

The look and location is very nice and the interior signals class. The food and service was rather mediocre and really just your average compared to many other restaurants.

Business meal with 3 courses menu, very nicely presented and tasty. We had a private room, which was good and privacy satisfactory. Very friendly service. Large wine selection but largely overpriced, never seen before for this level restaurant. However reasonable pick was good to enjoy the meal.

Stayed one night in hamburg and got this recommended by friends and our concierge. It's a fancy but fun atmosphere. Friendly waiters and funny people. Would go there again.

Been here a couple of times over the last two years and it is still four stars , definitely. However, it seems like prices keep going up and quality slowly but steadily going down. The location is great, starters (check out the tuna or beef tartar) are excellent - and the steaks still beat many others in Hamburg. However, you Gotta start wondering if the food is still worth the juicy price and I am missing the "wow effect" it always had and seems to just not happen anymore.
