Vapiano Hamburg Rothenbaumchaussee

After dining at Vapiano in Münster we decided to try the Hamburg branch which is equally good and exactly the same system and quality. We arrived at a busy time and had to wait for about 20 minutes but it was worth it. The restaurant...offers excellent bibs for the messy eaters. The atmosphere is lively and friendly. I recommend it.

I love Vapiano! They have the best concept. You get a card, choose your food and your drink and at the end of the dinner (or lunch) everyone pays for what they have eaten. The perfect concept for a group of friends having a meal...together. But now, the food! Made in front of your nose you will have the choice if fresh pasta (made in the restaurant), or Pizza, or sallad or some anti pasta if you like. The food has high quality and you can personalize it however you like. If you still miss something on you plate later on there are fresh herbs and perfectly flavored oils on the table for you to use if you like. I simply love Vapiano!

Some say Vapiano is the McDonalds of pasta which is true if they mean it's cheap, efficient and predictable. In addition, Vapiano's food is delicious, and its pasta fresh. This branch is good, and close to the U Bahn, but it does get very busy.

Although it was busy at 6:30 on a Saturday evening we found a table for four and we all gor our respective pizza and pasta dishes. I had a very passable Americana pizza and a Weizen beer. The rest of the family had spaghetti bolognese...or carbonara with soft drinks. We had to go up in shifts to make sure we kept the table, but otherwise very simple operation. Pizza was cooked to order and pasta was reported as being good too. Simple swipe card system at every food station accumulates a bill you settle on the chas desk on your way out. Would recommend to anyone who wants convenience without descending into fast food standards of cuisine.

Only foods are OK. Without service it's not worth to pay. Trays are very small even for their plates, cutlery is very old and worn out. Wine is good. Hygiene seems not good. Overpriced.
