Pros: location, a range of menu options, the baked beans were good (out of a tin) Cons: service wasn’t flash; ordered the English breakfast and the toast was cold and the scrambled egg was cold on arrival; the orange juice was warm; the coffee was HORRIBLE
We bought a Groupon and we thought we had a 4 course meal with wines..Arriving there we were very pleased and suprised. This is not your ordinary bar/restaurant. The place is so nicely decorated. There is a lot of staff running around, not always well organized we noticed...while waiting for bread and olives for over 50 minutes; they forgot! Anyway, we had a few wines before starting diner...uhmmmm it was such a hilarious situation...apparently we bought a deal for a wine tasting without food. That's what happens when you buy Groupon deals in another language ; We had a great wine flight, with incredible wines. The atmosphere was great..Our wine tutor so devoted and the cheese and bread that came with the wines, where delicious. Resume: a great evening 9and what we saw, the food looked tasteful too .
We were a wine dialogue in this beautiful place. The reservation was made online and was confirmed somewhat later by email with a nice note at the beginning of the event. We will be kindly received on site. We explain the stairs up to the wardrobe and then slightly higher to the room where the wine dialogue takes place. The room is very nice, there are several tables in the room where benches are placed. We like the halls very well and the whole atmosphere is great. Gradually the other guests flee and find a nice conversation. Later Jacob greets the round and declares the end/ide of the evening. There are two wines for each course. Therefore also dialogue: You will find out what tastes better and is not completely prescribed. Thus one always comes to talk about the wines, compares, analyzes and about the advantages of the respective wines. A cremant is passed on as an aperitif. There is very interesting information about it. Then every wine follows. Jacob obviously knows what he's talking about. It is fun to listen to him and listen to the explanations of fermentation methods, grapes, cultivation areas, taste development, etc. The first course is served after greeting from the kitchen-treated salmon. very tasty with a small salad. A great entry into the menu. Next, a pumpkin soup is served. This is very pleasant with foams and oil and tastes excellent. The main course is duck breast with red cabbage and lumps. The duck breast is cooked up and the red cabbage is also very common. Finally, we are pampered with a chocolate cake and a roast apple. The wine country is a shop with bistro, beautiful events and great food. I had a great impression of the knowledge of the wines in the house. The service was very attentive and friendly. It was a great, cozy round. Remembered a Christmas dinner or a Christmas party, although you first saw the other people. We sat with four other participants even after enjoying food and wine and had nice conversations. It only works when the store delivers a good job in advance. Who was short-circuited would have got 10 on 6 bottles of wine, I definitely go to my Christmas shopping. A great evening that deserves clearly five stars. Follow the photos.
Well sorted wine trade in a beautiful old Elb building
