Golden Chopsticks - Hamden

Just got takeout here for lunch today. Worst dumplings I have ever had (I ordered the vegetable steamed dumplings. Good dumplings have a thin wrapper; these were VERY thick and pasty, with very little of a bland filling. My Moo Shu Pork and my friends' orders were just OK, but not as bad as the dumplings.

The best steamed pork dumplings around New Haven. Also, one of the few takeout places that will make Peking duck! Otherwise, very reliable Chinese takeout. Friendly, fast takeout service. The inside looks nice too!

Well it got a C from the health department, so that wasn't super exciting going in. I didn't get food poisoning afterwards so that's a plus. There are regulars that come back to dine here, which says something I guess. The food wasn't great. It was average americanized Chinese food with a cardboard fortune cookie at the end. Don't get me wrong, I love my americanized Chinese food, but I've had better. The men's bathroom was humid, smelly and dirty. It made me wonder if maybe that's where the health department dinged them. It made me glad I couldn't see the kitchen, even though I kind of wanted to.

This is my to-go for Chinese restaurant. General Tso's Chicken is like no other. I tried General Tso in othere Chinese resto but theirs is the best.

Another C rating? Come on, Golden Chopsticks, get it together! I really need to find a Chinese restaurant in Hamden that consistently gets A ratings. Can anyone recommend one?
