I ordered the meatlovers pizza and it truly tastes European. My 93-year-old, very picky Italian mother inspected the bottom of the pizza and remarked on how well it was cooked. Who would have thought that Serbians could make such great pizza? This pizza is out of this world.
I absolutely adore this restaurant! The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is fantastic, but the best part is definitely the food. I love it!
We regularly eat out for lunch with another couple, trying out new restaurants in our area. Today we tried etno, and we are glad we did. First, do not let the outside fool you. Once you enter into the porch you find very pleasant outdoor...seating of 4 tables, each set for 4 guests. Entering the restaurant is like going into another country, in this case Serbia. The decor is great, rustic, with customary clothing, musical instruments and other utensils and items reflecting Serbian culture. We were quickly served and the menus had pictures associated with each food item. We ordered the cold cuts and cheese as an appetizer. We were pleased with this. The European meat cuts (4 types) were delicious as was the mild cheese, pickles and olives. We received warm rolls and butter with our appetizer, very nice. We took home the leftovers! Our friends ordered the goulash, one with macaroni and one with mashed potatoes, and my wife and I shared a meat platter for 2. Well, the goulash was melt in your mouth, the gravy very good and a nice portion size. Our meat platter contained 6 types of meat, schnitzel rolls stuffed with cream cheese, chevaps, a delicious sausage, a hamburger, a shish kabob, pork chop, and home fried potatoes. All were beautifully seasoned, tasted great, and once again we had leftovers which would be close to another full meal for us. We saw the cook and she very much appreciated the compliments we showered her with! We all agreed that this was a place we would come to again. I was surprised to learn that the have been around for 6 years. Live music on the weekends. Try this place, it will not disappoint you!
First of all let me say I was in a mood for a Serb style Meat Coma. I have had various Cevap in the City. I do have my favourites. Etno used to be Pizza Gurman a few years back and we loved the place....So I heard Etnos is pretty good. My feeling is 80 to 90 percent of the cliental is Serbian. If you are not an ethnic person food will be different. We did not have reservations and saw that many tables were reserved. The waitress greeted us in Serbian and I answered back in English, they switched write away to english. Chuckling inside) We were there early enough that we were able to use one of the reserved tables. We ordered the meat platter for two for $40 you really can,t beat that. The platter had Cevapi which were good, I am biased here because I love Cevap. They however were not in my top 3 in the City. I had expectations of having some garlic bite, they were a bit on the bland side for me. They were still good. The pljeskavica was the same to me lean as the Cevap. This is a serb version of Hamburger, very close in flavour to the Cevap. Still good however. The Karadjordjeva for me was pretty good. My wife does not like cream cheese so I took one for the team and ate it all. The sausage had some bite to it and was not bad at all. The last item of meat was the pork chop and it was good, I prefer a little more spice but no complaints. The bread was nice chewy and warm. The surprise item for me was how good the Sopska was, and that was excellant. I like tomatoes and Feta, so-so with cucumbers, this was really, really good for me. The potatoes that came with the platter were warm at best and were so-so. I was surprised sort off, because that is a strong dish with many Serb Moms, the norm is they all just make off the chart potatoes. All in all, this was a solid meal at a fair price. I checked the reviews prior to coming and objectively give this a solid 4 star review. Well done!
