However, my most recent takeaway experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered a chicken Jaipuri with extra capsicums for an additional cost of £1.00, only to find that there were only 4 small pieces of green pepper in the dish. The overwhelming taste of mushroom also ruined the meal for me. I couldn't even taste the chicken or the spices that are supposed to be in the dish. I have always thought highly of Pir Mahal compared to other Indian restaurants in Hamilton, but after this experience, I can't say that it's any better than a mediocre local restaurant.
The curry sauce is prepared in a blender, making it thin like a soup. The pesrhwari nan is a bread that is coated in honey and sprinkled with sesame seeds, lacking a fruity coconut filling. When I called to express my dissatisfaction, I was dismissed with the explanation that "this is how we make a pershwari." Overall, very disappointing - I would recommend avoiding this restaurant.
I'm not sure if this restaurant still exists. It has been sold to new owners who have different plans for it. If at least 50% of the menu remains the same, it is worth trying their Indian/Pakistani food.
A word. phenomenal. the competition between the Indian restaurants in Scotland is fierce and I was for many. this place is one of the best i.
Pir mahal was in this year the venue for Christmas dinner. at just £5.50, the business lunch was the highest value, as the amount of food was enough.
