Lovely modern accommodation in a beautiful small town Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great view, Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value
Looks like rooms were relatively newly refurbished although toilet seat was broken. And so was one of the lamps. Biggest bug bears were mozzies in the room which at least they had a big spray available in the room and intermittent hot water. If your staying multiple nights don't expect any cleaning service or replacement of towels. Rating as based on price paid for the room which wasn't cheap. Staff were friendly but there was really no interaction with them other than to get there key but sure they would help if there were any problems. Mobile service would get by with Optus with weak service. Vodafone you will be hovering between 0 and 1 bar and will be doing the human antenna dance to get a better signal which I've seen other guests do as well. It is located halfway to Jenolan Caves if the road was open but due to road closures your 20 minute trip is now 56 minutes as you have to go via Edith and Oberon. This will be like this for the next 2 years until they fix the road. Food was ok for pub food but wouldn't eat there two nights in a row and might be worth a 20 minute trip to Lithgow to get a better variety of food to choose from. Lovely setting and views. Unfortunately the whole pub seems a little over renovated and has more of a winery feel than cosy historic pub. Charming modern vibe but lacking in old school charm.
