Sunsplash Caribbean Llc - Hampton

I have been frequenting Sunsplash since they opened. My favorite is oxtails, rice peas, cabbage, and plantain. The plate has always contained a substantial amount of everything; the oxtails have always been tender; and everything has always been well seasoned. I've been to Jamaica MANY, MANY times over the past 22 years, and Sunsplash is definitely comparable to ANY Jamaican food I've ever had and surely the best in Hampton Newport News! OMG! This was my 1st time trying Sunsplash Caribbean Restaurant and they did not disappoint! 1st off the customer service was outstanding the woman behind the counter taking orders was courteous professional from start to finish. I had the oxtails with rice peas, cabbage plantains. It was delicious oxtails came right off the bone unlike some other places, cabbage was well seasoned, rice peas moist flavorful! I will definitely be back soon! My soul is singing 5 ? ?

This was my second (and last time buying food there. The first experience was bad but I thought that I would give them another try. Big mistake. I ordered the oxtails with rice, peas, cabbage and plantains. The oxtails were small bite size pieces with little meat on them and very sweet (too much sugar in the oxtails! The rice and peas were hard and the cabbage portion was small. All this mess costs me over $20! No wonder its never crowded, the food is not good. If

I ordered a large oxtail which came up to 24 dollars there was like only 6 oxtail in there one of them didn't even have meat on it just a bone. The food was bland. My first and last time going to this restaurant.

The oxtails juicy falling off the bone, beans rice, cabbage and plantains were all seasoned just right... The seasoning for the oxtails had me thinking about my grandmother oxtails ???? Oh yeah please add friendly service
