Due Amici Pizzeria - Hannibal

We have had their food in the past and it 's really good. We went there on a Saturday afternoon around 1:45pm. They have a small sign and if you blink, you 'll miss it. It was hard to find. There was a small festival going on and they said they were closing at 2pm. ??Really!!!! They said We can make your ? ? quick and you can eat it outside at the tables . I don 't think so, so we decided to go to Palermo up the street.?

First time eating here. We ordered 2 pizzas at the counter. The phones were busy as we waited to place our order. The pizza came in a reasonable time despite the number of calls coming in. That was a nice touch. The pizza was quite good. The crust was a good hand tossed thickness. Not too thin. Not too thick. It was baked crisp with just the right chew. The sauce is flavorful on its own. The pepperoni was small in size, so seemed sparse. The Italian Sausage was good, with a strong shot of fennel. Yet, there are some glaring issues. The gentleman at the counter needs to be more personable and learn the art of a good smile for customer service. The young lady and the pizza maker in the back showed these things. The restaurant desperately needs to drop the ridiculous 1920s Gangster Theme and naming of pizzas. Al Capone, Machine Gun Kelly and Baby Face Nelson were horrible and vicious people. None of this fits the name of the restaurant Due Amici Two Friends. Nor does it fit Hannibal as a community. It all just sticks out like a sore thumb. Also, they need to get a lacquer finish on the booth tables. The gross tacky residue on them is just that gross. We moved to a different table before sitting at it. Hopefully the lacquer will be added after they cover the Crime Spree Newspaper Headlines **** that covers the tabs. Who would want to read that while they are waiting to eat dinner? Finally, the tables need pizza table stands, so you can get space to eat the pizza on the smaller tables. We will definitely come back.

You will never know how much it meant to us and our Town of Perry, when your volunteers walked up to us with hot pizza and cases of water and soda ! The burden on our tired shoulders was immediately lightened, just knowing that people care and wanted to help us. America small town living at it’s Best ! And your PIZZA IS AWESOME !

Visited after doing touristy things in Hannibal. Great pizza, friendly service and worth the stop. Met owner earlier in the day and told we were going. Glad we did.
