Mellow Mushroom Downtown Denver

We had a great experience this past Saturday! We had a large party of 12 the weekend of Thanksgiving. We did have quite a bit of a wait but that's to be expected. The parmesan pretzels were my favorite thing! We all loved the holy shitake, great white andmeatball ricotta pizzas. Also, this is the ONLY place I've found with Ace Guava cider on hand! The only thing I'd change isthat they don't allow reservations of any kind. Waiting 45 minutes with 4 younger kids was a bit of a trial haha.

I really do like Mellow Mushroom pizza! The crusts and amount of tomato sauce here could be used as my definition of how I like a pizza. However, we had a unique experience eating at this Mellow Mushroom. We were seated on a bench along a wall whichoffered some privacy and comfort. A group of four was seated two tables down. At one point, the guy on the bench side of theirtable jumped up and said he saw a cockroach right next to his head. My wife I shifted to the chairs from the bench side of ourtable and finished our meal which had already been served. The guy let out a bit of a yelp as he got up, and the waitresscame around when she say their table jump up and the two of us switch side of the table. The two tables explained that there wasa cockroach along the wall, and her response was let me reassure you, we don 't have a cockroach problem here. This is stillthe funniest statement I have hear on our trip as we had just explained that there was a cockroach along the bench. Not sureif she saw the irony in her statement. As my wife I finished our meal and got our coats on the cockroach again showed itselfright at the bottom of the bench where we had been sitting. It was a big one (Savannah style? . I understand they spray for thebugs, and work to keep the place clean. But even though I love this pizza deserving a 5 star rating, I have to average it withdining with a cockroach. (Sorry, no photo

The vegan pizza was ok not the best an they put too much cheese an tomato sauce on my pizza I asked for double spinach but it wasn?t double but it was double sauce an vegan cheese not so. The waitress was nice on the up side

One of the best Pizza's I've had in over 10 years. Restaurant was great (you wouldn't know it was a chain restaurant) and the staff were great. I wish I had listened to the server and gone for a small (for a single person to eat), instead of went forthe large which would have been suitable to share amongst a family (as a result I was eating pizza for lunch for a few daysafterwards, which wasn't a hardship as it was so yummy). Would highly recommend this restaurant. Oh, and the Mango beer wasamazing.

Pictured below is the small Buffalo Chicken pizza. It?s really good. It does have a lot of crust, but the crust is cooked to perfection. It?s a bit noisy inside, but the staff are very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place and the food.
