Couldn't have had a better surprise, the food was excellent, authentic Spanish tapas best for sharing. We were a group of 5 and found 2-3 plates per person was enough. The octopus special was a standout, but also the typical Spanish garlic prawns and croquetas were great too, all of the dishes were delicious and flavourful! Highly recommend, great fun for a group too!
Very pleasant indeed! We visited early evening when Escala is in the perfect setting on the front in Clevedon. (Views out over the water and the setting sun etc). The menu offered a range of interesting, good quality authentic tapas options and these were much enjoyed by all three of us in our group. The staff were efficient but also relaxed and friendly, which created a welcoming atmosphere all round. Not the cheapest place in town but, all things considered, we were more than happy in terms of overall £value and the experience as a whole. Great to see this venue back in action. Long may it last.
Fab tapas and lovely relaxed service. Really high quality food, I particularly enjoyed the prawns pil pil which just had the head and tails left on so you don't have to spend ages peeling them. My 4 year old daughter loved the tomato bread and calamari. A wide choice on the menu with lots of fish dishes. Daily specials hand written on the menu was a nice touch too. Really hope Escala is here to stay
Just had an excellent meal with good advice and service. Staff were very polite and gave great advice on some choices, these were highly appreciated and we cannot fault them. Highly recommended
I must say after looking very much forward to our visit left ' very disappointed '. Pre booked a table in conservatory. Given in the back. Service: really un attentive, a lot of aimless walking around. Asked for water 4 times. A long time to order then 7 plates all at once. Food: not spanish in terms of seasoning and flavour.
