El Rodeo - Harrisburg

My man and I are vegan and we visited el rodeo today for lunch. we ordered the vegetarian fajitas without sour looking and cheese. we were disappointed when the tellers arrived because they were extremely small portions and the Fajita vegetables were not fresh (or even squirting) the normal dinner plate was 1/3 fajita vegetables and 2/3 rice and beef. we had to send the buzz back because they put the cheese up. the fajitas did not come with guacamole or salad/tomatoes/etc, but still cost about $11. the menu clearly indicates that they calculate $1.35 for additional baskets of chips. the service was terrible. our waitress took our order, and then we didn't see it again until we had to ask for it. we did not get the salsa we hoped for, or any refills on water. Usually we don't complain about the places we eat, but we really want to save them from the same bad experience. try them somewhere else!

We decided to visit this restaurant due to the short wait time and its proximity to our hotel/event. Additionally, we were impressed that someone actually answered the phone. The restaurant had a unique ambiance, reminiscent of a Mexican village. They only had Dos Equis Beer on tap, but offered other options in bottles. The combination plates were a good value and provided a generous amount of food. We were promptly seated and served. We started with chips and salsa, which had a flavorful salsa and decent chips. Our party of seven enjoyed the food, with standout dishes being the chimichanga and Chicken Tamale. We indulged in deep fried ice cream for dessert. Despite the slightly messy surroundings, we would return to this restaurant for its quick service and tasty food. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
