Dockside Cafe - Harrison

This is a fantastic restaurant located in a state park. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, and the waiters are exceptionally attentive. The food is outstanding, ranging from macaroni and cheese to steak. On Fridays, they offer a special fried catfish dish, complete with large hushpuppies and various sides. It's a popular choice, so be prepared for a bit of a wait on Friday nights, but trust me, it's worth it!

This restaurant is ideal for a post-water outing, offering great drinks and food. I find the food to be quite authentic, and I appreciate their effort to include homemade items that are often frozen in similar establishments. Is it flawless? Not really, but most places with young staff and a straightforward menu tend to have their quirks. I enjoy salads, burgers, ribs, and house-made breads. Whenever you serve hand-crafted fries, you’re making an effort to provide quality food. I also think serving desserts in glasses is a charming idea!

Service was wonderful. Our waiter did a fantastic job. We sat on the terrace opposite the water on a very hot day. He kept our drinks full, even if the ice melted almost as fast as he brought it. If the food was as good as the service, I would have given it 5 stars. The food I got was about price and taste was not bad, but not as good as I hoped it would be for the price. I have the BBQ pork plate with a baked potato and baked beans. It costs $1.50 extra for a small sprinkle of cheese and a few bacon bits. I asked for extra butter and sour cream I got. I just expected the butter and sour cream to melt on a steaming hot baking potato. The margarine came in prepacked cups with the Peal off top and the sour cream was packed in the small clear sauce cups with lids. Next time I could ask if I could order a child's meal and maybe get dessert. I say the next time because I could be willing to try it again because of the excellent service, even if everyone is understated. I also like it's not a chain restaurant. I never knew about Dockside Cafe if it wasn't for a friend who would meet our group there.

We had a fantastic Father's Day dinner with a beautiful view of the water. Lauren was our waitress, and the service was outstanding. The grouper dinner was absolutely delicious. Thank you once again; we can't wait to come back. Our dog also enjoyed a big bowl of ice water!

Good food and service. Enjoyed our meal view. I would recommend the ribs over the brisket. It was over cooked and dry. Was hungry so forgot to take photos of food but did get a pic of our homemade coconut cake. Delicious cake!!!
