Really delicious food. A rare opportunity to try authentic Venezuelan cuisine in the area. Clean dining area, staff is very pleasant. Prices are somewhat high and it's hard to be sure what you are ordering unless you speak Spanish well, or can research menu items.
Delicious Authentic Venezuelan Food Our Airbnb host listed Arepera Las Chamas in her recommendations of places for dinner. It did not disappoint! We ordered two juices and a variety of arepas and empanadas. Juices: pineapple/guava and mango Yumminess 8/10 Arepas: 1. Gocha- avocado, white cheese and milk curd 2nd fave arepa 2. La llanera- steak, tomatoes, onion, cheese and cream (takes longer to make) 1st fave 3. La Margaritena- shrimp, tomatoes, onion cheese and cream 3rd fave Empanadas: 1. Pabellon a Criollo- beef, yellow plantains, black beans 1st fave 2. Carne- shredded beef 3rd fave 3.Vegetarian- yellow plantains, cheese, and black beans 2nd fave I hadn't had empanadas with plantains as filling before this dinner and I really enjoyed it, so definitely order a couple of those to try! I like to take the first bite of each one plain and then add one sauce at a time to each bite so I can enjoy the same one in multiple different ways. The three different sauces are all fresh and delicious. All of the food was super tasty and affordable. There is seating inside as well as a couple of picnic tables outside. I deducted one star from the review for atmosphere, their food is solid but they could spruce up the place a bit so it is more pleasant.
This food is SO good! It's totally authentic Venezuelan cuisine at a really reasonable price. The servings are big so you definitely get your money's worth. Feels like a real home made meal.
I've been coming here since they opened and I love it! The food is Caribbean food from a Venezuelan perspective, so it's a little different than what I'm used to. It's still delicious. You get a lot for your money.
