Prospect Cafe - Hartford

I've returned twice, with my most recent visit just this weekend. Unfortunately, they were out of the Pineapple Coconut cake I had been craving (I even called ahead to check). When the server, Cat, learned about my disappointment, she sincerely apologized (it really wasn't her fault; the cake is just that amazing) and went to ask her manager if they could do anything about it. At the end of my meal, they surprised me with a gift card to come back and try the cake another time! I really appreciate the wonderful experience and the delicious lunch leftovers. Thank you!

This has become our favorite neighborhood café. The upscale, creative bar menu is consistently delicious, and there's an excellent selection of beer. They have jazz music on Tuesdays, a lovely patio, and the service is absolutely outstanding!

The food was excellent—we tried the clam chowder (a bold choice, but it was delicious) along with the BBQ pork and mushroom burgers. Our waiter was really friendly, managed to get our complicated order spot on, and had great knowledge about the beer my friend chose. There was a small issue with the bill regarding the tip, but we reached out to the owner, and it was resolved within 30 minutes. Whenever we find ourselves dining in West Hahtfed again, we will definitely return to the Prospect Cafe!

Very pleasantly surprised. Lovely new dining areas with a laid-back gastro-pub feel, good draft list the food was excellent. (French Onion braised Short Rib Poutine?! Bartender was very attentive friendly. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

This place was so wonderful! The food was tasty, the atmosphere was relaxing and the prices were reasonable especially considering the portion sizes!
