Mcorville Inn - Hartlepool

We had made a reservation for Sunday lunch at McOrville Inn and were searching for a friendly, countryside pub for Sunday lunch since moving to the North East in June 2022. We had tried pub chains before, but they lacked the cozy and welcoming atmosphere we were looking for. However, we were pleasantly surprised during our first visit to McOrville Inn. The staff and locals were all very friendly and engaging, making us feel right at home. The Sunday lunch we had, with Pork and Gammon meats, was exceptional with flavorful gravy and perfectly cooked roast potatoes that were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The Yorkshire puddings were just like home-made and the vegetables were served separately, which we appreciated. We even asked for a doggy bag (Yorkshire Lass) as there was so much food left on my plate. Despite not having room for dessert, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal. We had a wonderful conversation with the staff, including Claire who, like me, is a Yorkshire lass. The chef even came out to check on our satisfaction with the meal, to which we quickly responded "Beautiful!" We will definitely be returning for Sunday lunch and plan to explore the other menu offerings as well. Thank you to the staff and locals for making our visit so enjoyable. Denise and Nigel Corbey.

I visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch for the second time and was very impressed. Even though it was bustling with customers, the wait was not too long and definitely worth it. I ordered the pork dish, which was excellent. It came with plenty of vegetables and delicious homemade gravy.

The Full English Breakfast was fantastic! It was very delicious and a great deal at £6.95. It included 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausages, black pudding, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, and toast or fried bread. The staff were helpful, friendly, and welcoming. A nice touch was when the chef, Steve, came to introduce himself and ensure that everything was to our liking. We will definitely be returning, especially to try the Sunday Lunch!

Great place for a Sunday lunch, small and friendly pub. Choice a 1-3 meats and a selection of fresh veg, roasties Yorkshire pudding mmm. Will be going again

Myself and partner opted for the beef Sunday lunch and was not disappointed at all. The beef was two thick slices with two yorkies, sublime roast potatoes, mashed potatoes and a side dish of veg. We had a full, delicious gravy boat to share which was more than enough. Our three year old opted for fish fingers and chips which again was a good portion with amazing chips. The service was excellent, really friendly, helpful and not intrusive at all. Will definitely be back, thank you.
