You can't reach the dishes in the back row without bending down and reaching your arm up and UNDERNEATH the LOW LOW plexiglass guard, this can't be more sanitary, a great big BOO to this designer! (I am only 5'3, I imagine more difficult for those taller. My favorite item has been changed, No more breaded deep fried chicken tenders, replaced with preformed chicken nuggets, Boo! Waitress was very nice, Foods I tried and liked: Bacon, Cream Gravy, Buttermilk Pancake with real butter (I requested , Honeydew Melon, Fried Apples, Scrambled Eggs. Biscuit I had was great on the very top and the bottom but the middle was heavy and undercooked, I discarded most of it only eating top and bottom with the cream Gravy that was tasty. The rice with sausage had only a small amount left and it looked dried up so I didn't take any, but this is usually a good dish. The cubed fried potatoes, nah. I wish they had plain fresh strawberries on the bar, what is available is too sweet. Other items I recall seeing on the bar: sausage links and rounds, grits, canned warm mushrooms, salad fixings lettuce, cherry tomatos, sliced cucumbers, pickled beets with onions, purple onion, potato salad, cantaloupe, canned tropical fruit salad with the papaya and pineapple, a spiral type sugared donut.
Love the new buffet bar!! Food was fresh and the service was great!!! Glad to see Shoneys still doing good!
Bought gift cards for my parents and this particular franchise has stopped honoring them. Their solution is for my parents to use all of the funds on the card at one time and forfeit whatever is left on the card. The owners and their attorneys are both out of their minds if they think I would use some of the money on this card and then just give them the rest. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy gift cards to this Shoneys or any Shoneys for that matter. Never understood why my parents like this bland horrible tasting food anyway. I think this little stunt has cured them of ever patronizing Shoneys ever again.
My wife and I take a day trip every Friday for either breakfast or lunch. We drove 2 hours and 35 minutes for their breakfast and were not disappointed. The people, customers and employees alike were the most friendly people we have encountered anywhere ever. What a small town America experience.
Good food for the price. If you can catch them open. They close early or don't even open to many days
