While in Alabama for the week, we made sure to visit Rodney Scott's BBQ in Birmingham and Big Bob Gibson in Decatur. Both locations exceeded our expectations. We wrapped up our BBQ tour with a stop at Big John's and Company BBQ, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The quality of the food and the friendly hospitality made us feel like part of the family. My wife raved about her pork sandwich, calling it the most authentic and delicious she had ever tasted. I especially enjoyed the Whatchamacallit sauce, as well as the perfectly blended Alabama white and red BBQ sauces. I opted for the combo plate with brisket, pulled pork, fried cabbage, and mac and cheese, and it did not disappoint. As we enjoyed our meal, I noticed Jonathan tending to the smoker. He was kind enough to chat with us for a few minutes and shared his expertise. It truly felt like we made a new friend in Alabama. I highly recommend giving them a try - you won't be disappointed.

We drove to Ardmore and passed a smoker next to a gas station, with Big John's BBQ on the left side of the building. This no-frills restaurant is open through Saturday and serves amazingly delicious food. The dishes were fresh and tasty, leaving me eager to return for more. I got a pulled pork plate for my father, along with Slaw and potato salad, and he absolutely loved it. We also bought a rack of ribs, pulled pork, potato salad, and cole slaw, with the cauliflower being particularly outstanding. Everything we tried was excellent, especially the ribs, which were so good we didn't even need to try the sauce. I highly recommend trying this BBQ restaurant; it's fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful, taking your order and delivering the food to your car. Our meal was spot on, and we couldn't wait to dig in once we got home. Don't hesitate to give this place a try - it's a hidden gem in the area.

Really good and tasteful bbq and the potato salad is delicious. I wish they had opened more days. I'm back with the family.

Those who know barbecue know that there are few places that barbecue meats so well, it feels sacrilegious to put sauce on them. This is one such place.
