The Royal Standard - Hastings

Brilliant homely roast. Will be returning for a meal soon. Pity about the bar selection, could have been a lot better. The pub itself is like a tardis. Way bigger than you expect and room outside for alfresco dinning.

This place is a gem. The staff are helpful and friendly, the real ale was kept very well and the Pizzas looked so good we had to return the following day and weren’t disappointed. The Chefs (I assume a couple) took pride in their food and were we here longer we’d have definitely had the Sunday roast too. I’m picky, fussy and don’t generally give reviews let alone rave reviews but this place despite appearance is well worth a visit on all fronts. Excellent!!!!!

Whatever you do have a pizza, proper hand pulled wood fired job with loads of great toppings at a ridiculously reasonable price. The stuffed paratha (with Mediterranean fillings was also exceptional. Bar staff friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. This has got to be a definite visit!

Great pub. Came here today for a mid-afternoon drink with my partner, our 4-year-old daughter and partner's mum. We have been here a number of times over the past few years. It has always been terrific (would get here more were it not for small daughter). Lovely staff, nice regulars and the pizzas look so good. We have made a pledge to come back more

I went here with my wife and son who's 10 and has autism the female member of staff was talking to my sun telling him she has a double Brazilian and would not leave him alone then a guy who knows her started to get abusive and butted into a conversation I told him it had nothing to do with him he then got aggressive I stood up to him and defended myself I then left round the back the landlord then told me to leave the pub when he let the other guy back in I tried to explain he started it with the female member if staff talking inappropriately to my son and he told me to go what king of pub is he running when he let's wierdos like that work there and allows thugs in he's so called family pub and throws out victims of there abuse do go there avoid
