Cotton Blues - Hattiesburg

I really liked my shrimp po' boy, although I wish it had a bit more shrimp. The other elements were spot on. The complimentary sweet cornbread was a delight, along with the fun spreads that accompanied it. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her tomato soup paired with pimento grilled cheese and tomato jam. If I were to describe this place to someone, I would say it's a refreshed and unique take on Cracker Barrel.

I had been living off airplane snacks and was absolutely starving when I decided to search for restaurants in Harrisburg. That’s when I came across Cotton Blues. What a delightful find! I sat alone at the bar and ordered from their menu. I tried the blackened catfish and shrimp with praline sauce, along with smashed sweet potatoes and collard greens. It was AMAZING! I normally don’t enjoy greens, but these were cooked to perfection—I actually finished them! The catfish was wonderfully light and moist, and the sweet potatoes were phenomenal. I savored every single bite! The staff was not only friendly but also quick; my meal arrived just minutes after I ordered, which pleasantly surprised me.

Fantastic food! The green tomatoes paired with pork belly and tomato jam are exceptionally unique! The blackened redfish tacos are also delicious. The portion sizes are generous, but they do offer half portions for several dishes. The pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw is superb as well. It's a great spot for casual family dining!

Cotton Blues is a unique southern restaurant with a nice variety menu. Make sure you ask about the Blue Plate Special. I knew about it and got a great grown up grilled cheese with sliced ribeye and a delicious jam with a choice of sides. My husband had a shrimp po boy with a side of fried onion rings. The onion rings we're great. The waiter served an app of beer chips and bread and butter pickles. He was helpful in offering food suggestions. Finally he was attentive throughout the meal. I would go back again.
