However, my dog barked for a brief moment and a young man rudely and sarcastically told us that if he continued to bark, we would have to sit in the garden. He was not friendly at all. Fortunately, the manager intervened and had a word with him.
The food at this charming rustic pub was really enjoyable. The staff, though young and inexperienced, were friendly and provided good service. While the portions were not very generous and the food wasn't outstanding, we still had a pleasant time with some light-hearted moments. The venue is dog-friendly and the furry friends were well-behaved. Overall, it was a nice experience and I may or may not visit again, simply because it's not in our usual part of London.
The pub is lovely and the staff are great. I have been here many times and the food is good and the beer is excellent. However, this week there was only one real ale available, with a high ABV of 4.5%. It was awful - cloudy and warm. This is unacceptable for a pub. It seems that the pub now caters more to Lager drinkers, which is disappointing but likely due to their clientele. This experience has made me hesitant to return.
If i could leave half a star i would. We took my father in law to lunch for his birthday, there were 6 adults and a one year old. Our waiter got most of the order wrong, including giving a full priced sunday roast to the one year old and seemed surprised that we said he'd never be able to eat all that. We ordered 3 lamb roasts, all came up raw, one of our guests didn't want a new meal so had nothing. When the 2 new lamb dinners returned, there was some cooked lamb and some raw but it was all mostly fat. Everything was completely overseasoned. We were charged for 7 adult meals even though we ordered 6 but one was returned without a replacement. It was absolutely awful and I'm very disappointed that we were asked to pay full price for everything considering the dreadful experience we had. A ruined birthday lunch. I would steer clear of this place and perhaps go to either The Rabbits or Top Oak which are far superior.
Place is nice, staff are friendly, but the food and drink are expensive. £16 ham egg and chips. The chips were horrible, and the ham processed. Drinks are as expensive as the area will let you get away with. I wouldn't rush back here. Same food good cafe £7! It felt excessive popping here to eat
