Station - Haverthwaite

Excellent Xmas Dinner. Went there with friends early December and had lovely prawn and avocado salad for starters (with brown bread and butter) and chose the perfectly cooked turkey dinner. Mash,roasted potatoes parsnips carrots, peas red cabbage ,nice thick slices of turkey and gorgeous gravy . Delicious, tasty food. Efficient friendly service .Definitely recommend.

I had a delightful dining experience at this tea room. It was incredibly clean and cozy, complete with a lovely hearth that kept the room warm and inviting. It’s the perfect spot to relax after a ride on the steam train.

The restaurant serves excellent food, and when you dine in, you receive your meal on real plates. However, I’m puzzled as to why takeout customers are given their meals in cardboard boxes. This really stands out as a downside. Their prices are reasonable, and you can definitely see the quality of the food reflected in what you pay. We enjoyed the railway breakfast, and the very friendly staff kindly returned our meal and served it on plates for us to enjoy while seated. But honestly, I think they should reconsider using those cardboard boxes for to-go orders, no matter where customers are sitting.

The food here is excellent and reasonably priced. The interior is really nice, and the service is friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for delicious food at a great price in a warm and peaceful atmosphere.

Good place to take a tea or coffee take while waiting for their train. many seats in the station. there is also a picnic area above the bridge when they bring their own food.
