Can't really remember the first time I went to Lenzerheide but it must have been in the mid 90's. On this occasion things were a bit up and down.I like to start with the excellent service we had through out our meal and the person in charge handled the issue we had in a very professional way and a lot of restaurants should take note of this. For entrees we had the Pomegranate & Chèvre Salad which to me was just a bunch of Rocket with some very few tiny pieces of Chèvre and some Pomegranate seeds. We also had the dried meats (Fleisch) which was nice. For mains we had the Tenderloin cooked 3 ways which was very good and meat cooked to perfection. The other main dish we ordered was their signature dish of Seafood Ragout which was way over cooked and all items were tuff. We informed the head waiter who was more than happy to organise another one and he was very apologetic and also offered my wife a free drink - a perfect way to handle the issue.Take two; the replacement Seafood Ragout was cooked much better but it totally lacked and flavours in my eye for being a signature dish. The side dish of Brocollini was OK but a bit of salt & olive oil would have been nice and perhaps toast the almonds just a bit. Would also like to see Salt & Pepper being available at the table.Overall the Lenzerheide staff were great but the food was a bit of a let down for this old Adelaide restaurant with many awards. The setting here is nice and I like the old restaurant feel with soft touches, comfortable chairs, open fire & glass enclosure with plants. We normally have dessert but at an average price of $23 we though this was way over the top.
Saturday 15JulyEntertainment Card Refused10 people (set menu) for Birthday cost $1060 ,Entertainment Book Rules state set menus are included when using entertainment card .Also if 6 or more people are in the group up to 3 cards can be used.Manager said I should have been told that set menus aren't included ,this was never done nor in writing I have all correspondence. He was cheeky enough to say but I can come back another day and use the card with 2 people!Talk about bad PR we will never go back now ! Food was average and this result made it taste even worse!
We had an amazing and memorable dinner for my wife's birthday. From the moment we walked in the service was brilliant and attention to detail was perfect. The food was first class and very reasonably priced. The menu is well laid out and a great selection of entrees, mains and desserts along wit ha well stocked open cellar to chose from.
