We dropped by for lunch, some beers, and to catch the football games, and we'll definitely do it again on our next trip. There are plenty of TVs for every game, the food is tasty, and they have a good variety of beers on tap. We ordered burgers and sandwiches but plan to try the Mexican food next time. The service was perhaps the best I've ever experienced anywhere. I didn't catch the server's name, but he was wearing a Kurt Warner jersey. The locals who hang out here are friendly, and the atmosphere was mostly calm with a few people coming and going. It's a non-smoking establishment, which we appreciated.
I stopped at this place today while passing through and am glad I did, now I've only been there once and I had the street tacos and a cold beer and the tacos were excellent, service quick and friendly, the place looks like an old mechanic's garage so you have to look for it, pretty cool inside too, I'd recommend giving it a try!
Stopped in with a party of 13 unexpected. The owner and staff treated us like family and the food was great! Our bartender, Becca couldn't do enough to make sure everyone had what they wanted. We will see you again next time we pass through!
The service was great. Great prices and good atmosphere. I love it here. Will be stopping in again on the way to Vegas.
It 's Hawthorne, Nevada. Things are different here. A small desert town on Highway 95 outside an Army ammo depot. The middle of nowhere is right next door. THE PROS: We went for a late lunch on a Saturday. Mostly empty then, with a few locals drifting in. Install felt welcomed and at home when we walked in. Good size space, 2 pool tables, darts, corn hole etc. No pretense here. Full bar, but you get the idea they serve a lot of PBR and Bud. Behind the bar is decorated with messages written on dollar bills. Menu was sandwiches, pizza and wings. Burgers on Thursday. I had a hot pastrami and my wife had the BigBoy . Both were warmed and the cheese melted. Reasonably priced. THE CONS: While the sandwiches weren 't bad, they were just a sandwich. Would not rave about them, but no real complaints. Also, being from California, people smoking in a restaurant was uncomfortable. But this is Nevada and they expect you to get over yourself. BOTTOM LINE: Most travelers passing through Hawthorne may only stop at McDonalds, but go a mile out of your way for a sandwich and a cold beer. The people were nice and a little local flavor will make your trip better.
