Sargents Lounge - Hayden

What some people call dated, my family calls nostalgic. We have always loved this hidden gem. Last night was our first night dining since the new owner took over. We missed the candy bowl on the hostess counter, and were disappointed in the new menu. One thing that was not disappointing was our server, Marley. There was a snafu in getting my steak fired with the rest of our order. Marley was very professional and explained the mistake when the rest of our food arrived. I told her not to worry about it, it actually worked out better as it gave me time to finish my salad. The only thing negative about the situation was a man who was standing in the foyer wearing his winter jacket who kept staring at us. Eventually he came over to our table and asked how we were. He didn't identify himself, and we actually thought he was trying to hit on my sister. He made a reference to me not having my steak and that it would be out soon. That was the only clue we had that he was the owner. He then turned and walked out the front door. It was very awkward. We found out Marley is bartender there on Tuesday nights as well. I'll be back then, and will sit in the bar as she was the highlight of our night.

I was not aware that this place existed in Hayden, ID until a friend told me about it. It's casual and friendly. My server was Marley and she has a great sense of humor, is very attentive and didn't make us feel rushed which I had from other people happens sometimes here. Shout out to Korbyn and Kay too. The drinks were tasty and the three folks worked as a team to make our experience so good that we will be returning.

Excellent restaurant for steaks, with great service! Our server Marley was very attentive and fun! The steaks are excellent and. The self serve salad bar is a great addition. We went to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday, highly recommend. I had the filet, very tender and flavorful. The seasoned veggies were actually cooked and seasoned perfect. Riley was also great and the prime rib was raved on. You can also get the prime rib rare to well if you request.

Marley was an amazing waitress! We had a great family dinner and the food was amazing! Highly recommend this restaurant!

New owners. Kids are now allowed in the bar area. Numerous items have now been removed from the menu. You can no longer get a house wine. They could never even fill up the dining room so why now allow kids in the bar? People went into the bar for a quieter evening. Now that has been taken away. We use to be able to come here and get a reasonably priced glass of wine. Not anymore! Bring back the salad bar. Bring back the shrimp cocktail. Bring back the carafe of Chardonnay. Bring back the bar without kids and bring back the menu.
