We have come on numerous occasions and the restaurant has always been busy. Our favourite dishes here are the Pan Fried dumplings and Eggplant dish. Service is quick and efficient - emphasising on the idea of a quick meal (lingering after the meal is not advised!). On average, meals should be about $15-$20pp here. Overall, we both love Chinese Noodle Restaurant and is very similar, if not the same, to those restaurants in China.
Came here for lunch, and the restaurant was so crowded. Luckily we didn't queue for long. The place is a bit small but you can choose to sit outside, which is not recommended while winter pr windy. We ordered Xinjiang Stir-fried noodles with pork, broad noodles with stir fried beef, shallot pancake and special braised eggplant. All the noodles were home made and tasted really good! Really recommend for the xinjiang stir-fried noodles and special braised eggplant! Just found out that broad noodles is thin and has square shape. It was a bit chewy but still it was good. Though didn't get a chance to try the dumpling, so should give it another try next time. Don't be afraid you won't be full after having food here because the portion is big and with the taste, really worth the price!
Been coming here since 2004. Now I come to Sydney a few times a year this is a legacy I hope to continue. 3 dishes I always get. Pan fried pork and chive dumplings, steamed pork and chive dumplings and the beef fried handmade noodles. The food, plentiful and delicious. The service, quick but rude. The post dumplings burps, ghastly. Will I keep coming back? Most certainly!
This is the kind of place that is buzzing on a Saturday night with locals or those alike. The restaurant on a quiet street away from the commotion that is Chinatown, and those who are unfamiliar wouldn't exactly be enticed by it's authentic exterior. But don't be fooled, it's homely ambiance, large portion size, and classic dishes is what satisfies hungry diners. The special braised eggplant is a must have, the sauce is seasoned and deliciously inviting, complementing white rice perfectly. However, the handmade noodles with vegetarian stirfry is quite bland and has a very strong sesame flavour to it ( accidentally ordered this instead of the stirfried noodles). The noodles itself is filling and thick and would be great paired with a warm broth, rather than with a stirfry, but that was my mistake. The restaurant floor needs a good sweep and mop and walls need a good clean, while the staff are incautious and rushed, tipping over tea cups. But the decent food is good value for money for what is served. All in all, I would return to try the other dishes such as the dumplings.
