It has a small street side dining area and around the corner, you go upstairs to the main restaurant which is much larger. The place is generally busy with a buzzing young crew. The place is casual decor wise and seems to work well. They have the annoying iPad for ordering but htey actually work without you having to poke the screen 50 times to get it to register your Tempura Prawns order. The food was good and up to par with standard decent Japanese Fare. They have all the regular dishes. The service, while pleasant was not super efficient. Staff should be trained to carry items both 'from' and 'to' the kitchen / bar. This would improve service remarkably. Staff running around empty handed is not efficient.Prices were reasonable. We'll be back.
We were staying at YHA Sydney Central. We found this cute Japanese Restaurant when we were searching for food. It's very near, less than 10 mins' walk away from YHA Sydney Central (you exit the entrance, turn right, keep walking along the shops without crossing the street. When you see 'Subway', then it's time to cross the street. You can see the restaurant as you reach the row of shops.) Located just round the corner It's also less than 5 mins from Paddy's Market. We ordered Beef Udon. Ramen and Terikyaki Chicken. All were delicious.Staff was friendly and service was good. We didn't have to wait long for our food to be served. The atmosphere was simple. Space a bit squeezed, but overall at good visit.Price was reasonable too. I'd recommend those who love Japanese food to come here.
Been there 4 years ago and had a chance to come back when walked pass.Order half noodle and half rice My partner has got : chicken cutlet udon with teriyaki salmon and I had tonkutsu ramen with unangi donThe teriyaki was too sweet and bit burnt also my ramen has no pork in it?The service was ok.
Raw Karage sent back and returned burnt. Not very fresh sashimi and the presentation was amateurish the staff were plesant but far from a nice meal.
Popped in for dinner. Ordered the following:Okonomiyaki Soft shell crabSashimi I ordered for eat in but got my food in take away containers. Portions were small. Food was ok but not great. Hoping for more flavour. Service was ok as it was empty but they got it wrong by giving me take away. There are a few Japanese establishments in the area so will try them next time
