Lai Shing Dim Sum - Haymarket

Grabbed some pork dim sum and pork dumpling from here. A little on the expensive side. But great tasting. Had them take away. Wish they where in Melbourne.

We were staying at Meriton Apartments World Tower Sydney and decided to look for breakfast. Walking down the road towards Central Train station we found a shop that sold steamed buns and other steamed yum cha type foods for take out. The BBQ pork buns were $1,50 each. They also sell frozen and steamed pastry without filling - mantou. Open from 8 am to 6 pm 7 days per week. We took the food back to the Meriton Apartment on the 72 floor and had the view of the city whilst chowing down. As there was a full kitchen in the apartment we were able to have all the hot beverages with our dim sim.

This little "hole in the wall" is close to Central Station, right by several backpacker establishments and offers exemplary service and the best pork dumplings either cooked or ready for home cooking. Free jasmine tea for orders over $5.00. The business has been running for several years and it's my "go to" outlet when I need a dumpling fix. Char Siew buns are not as good as the pork dumplings, imho.

The view from the deck (or just inside by the windows if it's chilly) is reason enough to come to the Harbour Front and watch the sun set and the Bay of
