The steak was surprisingly flavorful, though it was served lukewarm. The ambiance is a bit peculiar with high ceilings and a unique accent, but it is a popular spot among locals.
While wandering through Sydney, we stumbled upon a pub advertising 10 steaks. Despite the crowded and noisy atmosphere, the manager or perhaps the owner managed to find us a small table. We noticed that he was constantly checking on everyone to ensure they were enjoying their meal. You have to place your own order and pick up your food when it's ready. The portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the prices were unbeatable. They even offered a jug of beer for $10 every day, and it wasn't the cheap kind. We would definitely go back there again!
I came to this restaurant for dinner and used a Living Social coupon for two entrees and two drinks. The voucher cost $26 with a supposed value of $56. I ordered the 350-gram steak ($21.50) and a glass of house red wine. However, when my meal arrived, the steak looked more like the 200-gram option ($10.00). When I inquired about this, I was informed that the larger steak was no longer available on the menu. I was very disappointed with the $10 steak, as it was tough and the salad was soggy. I will be contacting Living Social about this issue.
If you eat here with young people, there is a mezzanine with the back stairs reached. It's perfect for a family dinner.
I went to the Capitol Theatre to see a matinee show of The Lion King on a Sunday, I searched for a few places close by as the show started at 1pm and my friend and I wanted somewhere close to eat and did not...feel like chinese for lunch. The market grill was a great find in that it opened early for lunch from 11.30am and the service was fast and friendly there was a great choice and all at reasonable prices. Lunch for two which was a chicken schnitzel meal, a chicken wrap for me and cheesy garlic pizza came to thirty dollars ! Very impressive. This place will definitely be kept in mind next time we see a show at the Capitol Theatre.
