This restaurant has moved down to the first floor, along with all of the other restaurants in the Food Court of Market City. Super Chef BBQ is a big favourite with diners who love their meat. Located on the floor above Paddy's Market, and accessible...by foot, light rail or car, this food court is a winner. On this occasion the dish of choice was a Duck Laksa. It was sensational. How they can offer half a duck for the budget price of the dish remains a mystery. So if you are hungry this restaurant is going to leave you fully satisfied. They offer the full range of BBQ meats served in a range of options including soups. Staff are friendly and efficient. Service is swift. Clean toilets are on the same floor. Street parking is difficult, paid parking available in the basement levels.
In the market city and looking for something simple, we came across this place in the eatery. The pictures look great so we ordered a satay chicken. The woman serving had absolutely no interest in customer service but we thought we could tolerate that for...the sake of some good, authentic food. BIG MISTAKE not sure about any other dishes on the menu but the satay chicken was the very worst example we have ever eaten, either in this country or overseas. Tip for Super Chef satay actually should taste something like peanut!!!
Pretty good price-performance ratio meal, I had peking escape with rice and my with rice suppe, both dishes costing about $12 so should not rub.
A trip to the city to see the "book of mormon" brought us to a food court called super chef bbq. the box has a board that shows at least 40 different suggestions and my wife and opts for the prawn and dumpling suppe and the bbq black and empty soup. we got two huge bowls we couldn't finish. the dumplings were just as easy chewing, they slept in the mouth, while the garnels were fresh and the bbq pork tender as everyone comes out. the broth every bowl was exquisite. a mixture of chicken stock with enough seasoning, schalottes that gave it a wonderful experience to our taste buds. our complaining, no hoisin sauce and too many noodles that we can never finish and of course only a small serviette to clean up and when they put chili on their suppe, they know what happens. Nevertheless, it was a good lunch to go with a good show.
