Augustine's Bakery - Hays

I?m so glad we took time to try this local bakery. We love cinnamon rolls. We read previous reviews and that was the influence we needed. Very soft from edge to center. We had vanilla icing and almond crunch. Take time to enjoy localbusinesses. Very friendly owners, staff. We stopped before 8am on a Saturday. I?m sure the other products would be just as goodin quality.

From the onset, Augustine's Bakery was amazing to work with! We were planning a wedding from out-of-town, and they were in excellent communication. Everything was up-front and reasonable. They reached into my mind's eye and made the cake I hadpictured in my head! And I should also mention, it was (still is, thank God for leftovers) DELICIOUS. Top five of the cakes Ihave had in 38 years of a dessert-heavy lifestyle. I am not a frosting person. I usually skip it. I would eat a vat ofAugustine's frosting, and aside from the likely diabetic coma it would cause, would still have no regrets. Amazing, #1 bestfrosting ever. So, in summary, excellent communication, extremely reasonable pricing, talented baker and decorator, and youwill want to be buried in their frosting. I don't want to get married again, but if I did, I would easily pick Augustine's forthe cake.

I have not eaten here. However, my sister's best friend and I tried to plan a surprise by getting a whole pie for her birthday. First off, the hours make it hard to get ahold of anyone. The online menu offers whole pies and no where that I could see...andI looked hard...did it say they required advance ordering. When BF called to order, the lady on the phone was rude and snippy. Icalled as well and the quy who answered made excuses and was rude and sounded high. I hope for my sister's sake that the pie isbetter than the customer service.

The cake was great but the service was terrible. The man behind the counter treated me and other customers like they were stupid. I took the poor service fine but seeing the man speak towards two older couples with disrespect was horrifying. I wouldrecommend the cake but not sure if it?s truly worth getting treated with that much disrespect when you are paying them for theirservice.

Lovely place with a great menu of specials and baked treats all at a real fair price. The Friday lunch with fried noodles, beans and dumplings sounded a bit strange to me at first, but it's heavenly you MUST try it! I've only had the baklava from thebakery side, but it was incredible. Plus the folks are real friendly too and it's super fast.
