Watermen's - Heathsville

We came here for a party. Wow, what a mess. The bar was totally clueless. We asked for Jameson shots and mojitos. They claimed to be out of Jameson, even though we spotted a bottle on the bar. The mojitos weren't even mojitos. It came in a martini glass and was solid green, no fresh mint or limes. It looked and smelled like creme de menthe in a glass. The one bartender was trying, but didn't seem very confident with making cocktails. They also didn't know what they had on hand. The waitress kept smacking me in the head with (paper) menus while taking the next persons' order. When she took my incorrect cocktail back, she didn't even ask if I'd like something else. So here I sit, watching everyone else have a decent time. I did attempt to go to the bar, but with one bartender, they were so busy getting our party's order they wouldn't have been able to get my order. After this, not sure I'd come back. *update* after 10 minutes, my husband was able to get me a shot of Jameson. I'm betting that's all I'll be able to get. Another patron has spent over 10 minutes just trying to check out. Another person has waited almost an hour for food. Yikes.

This place is called the Hide Away Great food and drinks.

Fabulous food! Summer months has locally grown vegetables and fresh caught seafood!. The service is fast and friendly. Thanks to LaToya for being a great waitress. We were raving about the food and the cook, Darryl, come to our table to say hello. This place is open year round unlike many Northern Neck restaurants. Pricing is good.
