The service was fast and friendly. We ordered manto, Qabuli rice, lamb mince spits, dal makhani, and cheese and garlic naan bread. The portions were generous, and we were able to take home what we couldn't finish. The owner even kindly advised us that we had ordered too much food for just the two of us, but we still wanted to try everything. The total cost of the meal was $55. They do not charge a cork fee for BYO drinks. We will definitely be returning to Afghan Tandoori!
"The flavors at this restaurant are truly authentic and the dishes are so fresh. It's a local spot with affordable prices. Zafir is a master in the kitchen. I will definitely be returning!"
Enjoy a delicious meal at Afghan Tandoori located at 30 Glynburn Rd in Hectorville. Even though it's not downtown, everything in Adelaide is within a 20-minute drive. The Indian Afghani cuisine here is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. You can bring your own wine with no corkage fee. The service is very pleasant and the decor is clean and neat. We tried the Goat Curry, Lamb Biryani, Raita, Naan, Onion Bhajis, and Saag - all for a total of $56 for three adults. Next time, we'll try the charcoal dishes and save room for the house-made pistachio and mango ice cream. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!
I had many curries over the years in some highly respected Indian restaurants, and this place is right up there with the best of them. The vindaloo lamb was great. You know when you deconstruct a shaft and eat everything except the bones, including... those pieces of Gristle / cartilage that are normally obnoxily hard that the meal was cooked for a long time. Nicely seasoned, not too hot- quite a perfect Vindaloo. We also had the Samosa, which were great and tasty, some lamb kewers, sorted breads and some Rita. All were excellent.
