The view is wonderful, directly to the lake and the marina. The food was delicious, quite expensive, but really really late. We found the staff to be stiff and unfriendly, when we asked about a table in the shadow, but which did not directly to the designed area. In any country of the world, we would have probably got that table so that we can have some shadow in the stifling sun but there we were just given a mouthful in a quite unfriendly manner. We recommend the white wine and the trout
Compared to another restaurant we went to the previous night, this was far better. The food was nice, although not that adventurous, I ordered the Schnitzel 'Wiener Art' which was nice but only a pan fried piece of chicken with lots of chips. The scenery definitely makes up for the not that adventurous food as you are surrounded by a large beautiful lake and thick forests of trees. The prices are a little higher that expected, but not too bad. Overall I enjoyed a lovely meal with my family here and this will always remain good in my books
Since Der Seehof was the only 4 star hotel in the area, and their website mentioned good ambiance and comfort, we decided to have dinner at the restaurant, expecting a certain level of service. We did not make reservations, and were dressed in summer style, shorts, shirts and hiking boots. Upon arrival we were seated at a remote and dirty table, while others (among other guests) were available. Instead of wiping the table, we were handed the menu card, not being asked what we wished for a drink. When we picked our main course (skipped starter), we were asked what we were going to drink. Food preparation was taking very long, in fact our glasses of wine and beer were both finished before we finally got our main course. We were not asked if we wanted another drink. Well, we hoped the wait was worth it. The cod in parma ham was OK, a bit on the dry side, but it was reasonably satisfying. My partner had an Argentinian beef with vegetables and pommes duchesse. Instead of the meat being prepared medium, it was more like well-done. But the vegetables and the potatoes were extremely salty. I had a small fork from the vegetables, and it was just distasteful. As if the cook tipped over a container of salt in the dish. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he did offer a new plate. We refused, and just requested a few more slices of bread, to have something to eat, at least. Then we waited, to see if someone would show up to take any orders for a dessert. After at least a 20 minute wait, my patience was gone. Mind you, it was not really busy, the waiters were not serving many tables any more. I went to the counter, and requested the check. A poor experience, not worth another visit.
We had a meal at the restaurant whilst staying at the hotel. The restaurant was extremely warm but nicely furnished. We selected our mains choices only to be told that both were unavailable as they had not started serving those menu options yet (as in at that point in the year!) - it wasn't really seasonal, it was the vegetarian pasta option! We chose alternatives and the steak, despite asking for 'well done, no blood' it came out extremely rare. It went back twice, each time it came back slightly less rare. Eventually, we gave up asking and left most of it. I would not say that it was a very successful meal and would not go there again. The service was brilliant and the waitress was very patient with us!!
