Papu Cafe - Helsinki

I had a delicious soba salad for lunch and a coffee. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were attentive. The salad had unique flavors that I don't usually eat, filling yet refreshing. I highly recommend this place!

I absolutely loved the matcha cake at this restaurant and the coffee was fantastic as well. The flavor was robust and not at all bitter, unlike some Finnish Americanos. My personal favorite was the Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, creating a cozy and homey atmosphere in the cafe.

Lovely local little coffee and cake shop. Try the basque burn cheesecake. Mine was just out of the oven and still warm. Goes down nicely with a cup of cappuccino.

Papu is a small and charming cafe in the centre of Helsinki. In addition to quality coffee, they serve lunch with Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and other Asian cuisine incluences, always with a vegan option. I have eaten an great massaman curry here, and some fresh udon with dipping sauces and fresh veggies, plus a nice pho.

We were staying in and Air B&B right beside this cafe and went there for breakfast on our first morning. We got the brunch deal which included eggs and avocado on toast then a beautiful yoghurt/muesli type thing and a coffee. They were all executed perfectly, really high quality and tasty. Yes it's expensive and the service was a little stand-offish (it's Helsinki.. but really worth trying. Lovely little space where you could spend ages...
