Fin Feather Resort - Hemphill

Long explanation of the low rating. This was our 2nd year to come with my dad and siblings. There were 26 of us. Last year we were shocked at the condition of the resort . But we were told it had recently been bought and would be undergoing renovations. The location and views are incredible! The pool area is nice. There are 2 boat ramps to launch from. We brought our boat. There is no dock at the main launch. So, it made loading and unloading difficult. This year, the water was high enough that we were able to launch by the marina area (water too low last year, and the shore area of the lake was filled with hydrilla. The cabins are the pits. I feel certain that 20 yrs or so ago, this place was probably an incredible place to go. It is extremely run down. Beds do not have mattress covers. On the first night in my dad 's cabin, their stove caught fire. The staff did bring over another one the next day. Last year, the restaurant was open. The food was excellent,but with only 3 workers, the timing was the pits. As more people came in, they got further and further bedside. Ran out of glasses and clean dishes. It was unfortunate. This year, the restaurant was not open. There is so much potential here. The cabins are in need of a major overhaul. The views are incredible. It is NOT a resort. Not even close. Rooms: See pictures. Long past due for renovations. Walkability: Beautiful but some walk ways in need of repairs. Food drinks: Restaurant not open this year. The office has a small shop with drinks and ice cream. Noteworthy details: Beautiful location! Run down accommodations. Sadly we won 't be returning. Two yrs, no changes.

My family of 13 people booked to stay there Friday May 30th to June 2nd and only stayed the night of the 30th and left before 5pm on the 1st due to the conditions we were not informed of until arrival. There was no power hours prior and we were not notified, despite them having our phone number on paper to contact us. The 2 employees that checked us in on the 30th left soon after, and left us no way to contact anybody, even after one of the smoke alarms was malfunctioning through out the night. After asking for a manager to contact us and waiting with no response, we were still expected to pay for the full service, not receiving the full service.

Location was nice, Beds were not the most comfortable. Ac filters haven't been cleaned in some time causing a simus infection after the second night sleeping in. Poor wifi reception causing tvs to not work much. Pool was fun and clean, friendly people in the area. Rooms: Beds are outdated and not worthy to sleep a full weekend there. Nearby activities: There are recreational spots and state parks in the area for fishing and camping. Noteworthy details: Do not leave your boat in the slips, they don't have good tie offs and the water can get really rough causing boats to bang against the dock and sink from water flowing over.

It’s a shame about the waitress all moving to the Sportmans cafe during a tourney there.That cafe sure was busy the two times I drove by it.No docks either ramp.

I got there after 5 so I could not rent a room. I will be back. Very nice, very clean, very well maintained. You can tell a class act from the way it presents itself..
