Being the festive season on a Friday night in summer it was absolutely packed with families and friends enjoying their dinner so lucky that we had made a booking. It was quite noisy inside so we asked if we could move to the outdoor deck when a table was available. The views outside are spectacular as you look down the coast and out to one of the best beaches in the state and watch the sunset in front of you. We ordered the seafood platter to share which was very reasonable priced and packed with prawns, calamari, 2 large pieces of fish, oysters, wedges and salad. The seafood was fresh and the fish was perfectly cooked. My husband doesn't like natural oysters so they substituted for Kirkpatrick for $2 extra. There was also aioli and tartare sauce with the platter. We couldn't quite finish it all between the 2 of us. Our friends ordered the beef which they said was tasty and well cooked and super filling. This came served with salad and chips. They have a good choice of wines that are very reasonably priced and they also served cider on tap. They've also recently started serving breakfast and brunch and have a specials night with $12 schnitzel available. Don't expect fine dining, just expect good honest food and decent prices supporting a valuable organization in the Henley community. We will be back but are reluctant to tell many people about this place as we would love to keep it a secret.

We visited the Henley surf club on Friday night, sat on the balcony overlooking the ocean, very cool breeze blowing our way so we headed inside. Very busy with a pub like atmosphere but the views overshadowed it Looking at the menu with great debate, we decided to go for the sea food platter. When it arrived I noticed it had a lot of fillers as in wedges and salad to make look full, in my opinion it's very deceiving especially when you paid almost sixty bucks for it ( probably would of got better value at the local fish and chip shop) but I guess you gotta pay for the views.
After having a drink here and enjoying what is probably Adelaide's best beach view a few weeks back thought I would give a meal a go. Didn't expect a lot just basic pub standard but was greatly disappointed. $26 Sirloin...The size of a fillet steak and hard as leather cooked on hot plate and certainly not medium...advise stick to the basic pub grub on menu or just a beer and view!
It's difficult to find where to begin with the series of disappointments during our brunch here. The venue was not busy with perhaps 1/3rd of the tables occupied, which was the reason we decided to go there as most other places in the area were flat out (that should have been a warning sign). The first sign of things to come was that we had to clear plates from our own table from the previous patrons after waiting a while, and then chase for a waiter to wipe the table for us. Ordering at the bar was easy enough, although there was no flexibility when we wanted to swap some ingredients around in our orders (the chef says he can't add ice cream and extra strawberries to the pancakes. The chef says he can't swap chilli beans for normal beans, even though normal beans are available. Huh?). So the breakfast came out quickly enough, but the standard of the food was barely average. The scrambled eggs had clearly been sitting around for a while as they had started to go watery, sausages were cheap, and pancakes were dry with barely enough condiments supplied. The final straw was that our coffees and drinks did not come out despite several reminders. After finishing our breakfast, we got a refund for the coffees and got out of there. The lovely girl didn't argue about the refund, and apologised that they were so busy... I wonder how they handle being more than 1/3rd full!
