Watching all of those girls careen around at high speed, slamming each other around caused us to work up quite the appetite. So we decided to try a place neither of us had been to before. I recalled that the place had received excellent reviews on Yelp. And the place did not disappoint! Like previous reviewer Jamie N, I always worry about places that try to do more than one ethnic cuisine as they almost never get it right. Three Thai Sushi hit a home run with both the Japanese and Thai dishes we ordered. The Sashimi was some of the best I 've had around the area, and the Spicy Lemongrass Soup was magnificent! Very spicy and flavorful! There was one thing that did disppoint me, however. I asked for my Kee Mao Gai to be made Thai Spicy. But what I got was not even spicy at all. Still, the food itself was delicious. When our server, the delightful and enchantingly beautiful Pauline asked how our food was I was honest with her. I told her it was very good, but I was disappointed in that there was no heat. She promised that if I gave them a second chance and came back she would make sure that it was hot. She then wanted to know how it was that I as an American came to like my food so spicy. So we talked a bit about that. I highly recommend this place and I will be back again!
Came here on Wednesday around 1pm to grab lunch with a couple of people. Very close to where I work. The place wasn't that busy, maybe a couple of other people. We ordered their spicy lobster roll and the Rainbow roll. They were both pretty good. Couple of us got the bento box which is on their lunch special menu. I got mine with pad thai. The bento boxes are a good deal. They have 4 different types of bento boxes with different options in them. They have few other items on their lunch special menu for a good price. Good spot to grab lunch. It's conveniently located for me from work so I will probably return to get lunch.
In general, when I visit a Thai restaurant for the first time, I always order the same set of things: beef Pad Thai, riesling or some other sweet white wine, Thai iced tea, and some kind of dessert (preferably ice cream). The reason is because you can generally find all of these items in any Thai restaurant. The Pad Thai was okay. Noodles were cooked to the perfect finish so that they had the right texture. The seasoning if the dish was so-so: there seemed to be a strong egg flavor, and it was lacking in astringency I typically notice from other Pad Thai dishes, so I had to ask for a few extra slices of lime. The riesling (unfortunately I didn't note the brand... sorry) had a great front and middle: crisp and refreshing. Its finish, however, dropped steeply, leaving you with a slight feeling of disappointment. I was already feeling full from Starbucks lattes, so I skipped out on ordering a Thai iced tea. For dessert, I ordered a green tea mochi ice cream dish. The dessert itself would have been perfect, but it looks like whatever brand of mochi they purchased, they use something other than traditional matcha to flavor it. Tasted more like Jasmine green tea to me. The inside of the restaurant looked okay. Clean, but maybe a little lackluster. Bathroom was cleaner than I expected. Overall, not a bad experience.
Good, casual atmosphere. Prik king beef and Panang chicken were very good. Both had great flavors. I'd definitely come back.
This review is solely about the sushi I tried the restaurant for the first time tonight, and ordered the spicy tuna roll and soft shell crab roll. I was very disappointed with the quality, and stopped eating the rolls midway. The flavor and smell of the food was fishy , which is a bad sign as any sushi aficionado can attest. I will not order sushi from them again, based on the poor quality. This is very disappointing, as I am a big supporter of local Herndon businesses and try to always give them a chance. Perhaps I will try the Thai menu items in the future, as the Yelp reviews seem positive.
