Residing in the hotel. Missed lunch on a Friday and went in for a "early" dinner at 5:30 pm. Ordered a standard ribeye. Waiter did not ask for desired cook level and took my "medium" instructions (given in Spanish al ponto / medio) when I offered it. Received back a RARE steak and sent it back for more cooking. Received back a medium/rare steak and sent it back again. Received my steak completely flame charred on one side and untouched on the other side still more rare than medium. The steak was a quality cut and I was deeply disappointed to the point I didn't attempt to finish the meat or my glass of Malbec wine. Left disgusted. Noticed before I left a change in Chef coming on for the dinner shift. Two days later I am still trying to speak with the F&B manager. Bottom line, at a minimum, do not go in during "in-between" hours as the cook and wait staff have no idea what cooking meat is all about.
The restaurant is part of the Marriott Meson del Angel. The restaurant is a good option if you stay at the Marriott hotel. The waiter explains and shows the steak options. Service is average, during my visit no pepper mill was available. The Steak (Baby Beef) was very good, the plate was served warm, but the steak was not hot anymore. The side order, carrots were partly burned dark. A good option, but not a top address.
Had dinner at this restaurant at the hotel - ordered the rib eye - was very good but it was ponderosa restaurant thin. The baked potato was also quite small - but from what local folks tell me - it is one of the better restaurants in the area.Probably would come back - but not an American steak house.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food served at this establishment. The servers were really attentive to our needs as well. The steaks were cooked correctly and seasoned perfectly.
