Unique books for a variety of interesting reads. It was quiet the evening I went. A few people sat drinking coffee and chatting softly in the cafe. The perfect place to meet friends and to find new novels.
This is the smallest B&N I've ever been to, but it was well stocked, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. In the bigger stores, you barely see anyone till checkout. We were greeted and shown exactly what we were looking for in the first 2 minutes of being there. It's a B&N, but it has a hometown bookstore feel.
I enjoy this place very much it's very spacious and a very good selection of reading material magazines or movies most everything you want it's a very clean building with a cafe inside for Starbucks coffee or whatever you desire. There is plenty of parking all around the building it's a very kid friendly place the kids can go and eat a snack and learn and have fun it's wheelchair accessible and the staff are always such a nice group of people and they will help you with anything you need I recommend Barnes& Nobles in Hickory North Carolina to anybody you will enjoy your experience and such a stress-free experience at that
Book signing for Robert Beatty. The influx of people was insane and they handled it and organized as best they could. We did wait almost 4 hours to meet the author. Everyone was pleasant and patient. 700 I think was about the final number of folks there for the event. That wasn't including just everyday customers and business!!
TL;DR Standard B&N store, but service has been hit or miss recently. As far as the store and what they carry, it 's your bog standard B&N. I used to go in fairly regularly, just because it was a convenient book store. Unfortunately, the service during several of my recent interactions has definitely been lack luster. Most recently, I called to ask about whether or not they had something in an attempt to save a drive there if they were out. When I did, I was told they had so much that I 'd have to come look for [my]self to find out what they actually had. When we did go by, they didn 't have any of the specific item I was looking for in stock, and the entire category of items was sparse. I would have preferred it if the associate on the phone had just told me they didn 't feel like walking to that section of the store to look.
