I recently went to this restaurant at 2:00 PM to get a classic sausage roll to go. The service was slow and the food was lukewarm. I probably should have returned it, and I am not sure if I will give this place another try.
Stake bake much improved since Brexit. Almost as hot as the server!!! Defo will return. Sausage roll next
I retired from work in central Manchester just over 3 years ago and was unaware that Greggs had stopped serving their excellent meat and potato pasties around that time. I called in to the Glossop branch today today and ordered said pasty (which I would have thought was possibly their most popular item ever) and was stunned when the assistant gave me the sad news. She recommended the new meat veg pasty as an alternative a bit pricey at £1.85 but I decided to give it a go. What a mistake it was so bland, no discernible taste at all, I think someone forgot the seasoning, but it got worse; the pastry initially seemed good, very crispy on the outside, but inside it was doughy and actually tasted raw. Also, the peas in the pasty were surprisingly crunchy, something I normally like, but not in a pasty thank you. I suspect it was cooked at too high a temperature/not long enough. After many many years of enjoying Greggs excellent M P pasties (and also pies in years gone by) I 'm afraid I won 't be bothering them again. They should have stuck to what they 're good at instead of worrying about their (unwarranted) unhealthy public image.
The Manager always lets the place down he’s always too busy faffing about to serve and whenever he’s on nothings ready the rest of the staff are awesome and days when the manager isn’t in the place always runs like clock work
