The Anglers Rest - High Peak

I had an amazing roast dinner at this restaurant, especially the beef! The gravy was plentiful and the Yorkshire puddings were huge, and the roast potatoes were delicious. The vegetables were full of flavor and the staff were very friendly. What's not to love about a Sunday spent here!

Oh my goodness, I just had the most incredible roast dinner at The Anglers. I never thought I would find perfectly cooked medium rare roast beef at a pub Sunday lunch, but they absolutely nailed it. The variety of side dishes was amazing - from root vegetables and buttered greens to stuffing, mashed potatoes, pigs in a blanket, roast potatoes, and a Yorkshire pudding - everything was not only extensive but unbelievably delicious. The mashed potatoes had a heavenly taste that seemed almost magical. The pub, which is community-owned, had a lively atmosphere that made it feel like a bustling hub. They were also very patient and accommodating with my overexcited 4-year-old. I highly recommend a visit, but be sure to make a reservation in advance as it was fully booked when we arrived. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

I have been visiting this pub in the Peak District for many years. It is always a great choice with delicious food. You can truly feel the authentic English atmosphere of a local pub. The chef even took the time to talk to us about a specific dish, and the staff were extremely accommodating.

After a long night of camping my mate and i were trying to find somewhere to eat when we found the anglers cafe. After going in and asking for a menu we were told that they weren’t serving food for another 2 hours, however, the staff were lovely enough to make an exception and served us the nicest breakfast we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend this place, deserves the full 5 stars.

Ria is such a nice girl, the place wouldn't be the same without her. Me and my friend were there from about 9 until 10:30 (4th November) and we had such a good time. Its a comforting, friendly place that I can just be myself without worrying about what others think. Love it there, 10/10 definitely would recommend
