This pub has always had a good reputation for excellent food sadly lost by the last lot of management. The new management are trying very hard to regain this good name hence we recently had an excellent meal with great service.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Use this great pub or lose it.
Food was good. Bit slow on bringing food out altogether though. Also, floor is quite sticky. Would recommend the chocolate brownie
One of the better venues in the Chef and Brewer chain. The Crown is situated in a lovely country setting on the edge of Penn village. The food is better than others in the chain (namely the Boot and Slipper in Amersham) and is reasonably priced. Burgers are good, the fish and chips are nice and crispy and my husband rates the steak pie. They do a nice roast on Sundays and they often have special two for one voucher deals during the week which make it a good alternative to midweek after-work cooking. There's also a nice beer garden.
This is part of the famous Chef Brewer range of pubs and is one of my favourite in the area. It's located on the outskirts of the village in Penn not far from the centre of High Wycombe. With it's fantastic blackboard menu, great range of wines (I can't comment on the beers/lagers etc as I'm not a drinker of these tipples) it's a great place to eat out, either in the evening or at weekends. It's always busy on a Sunday and as far as I can remember from the last time I went they still won't let you book. However if you're not in a rush to eat, it's nice to sit at the bar and have a drink while waiting for a table to become free. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. in fact I might pay another visit this weekend!!
