What a dire experience Was passing and called in for a bite fool me for not checking trip advisor Rubbish service and food well horrible soup was cold and in edible due to the amount of pepper in it we got that refunded sandwich was also horrible there was food coming out and going to the wrong tables Staff were worse than useless and then they charge you for parking so you self a favour keep driving this place is a HELL HOLE
The food was very disappointing. Even the teenager wouldn 't finish the burger! In his words, 'how do get a burger so wrong '. A simply Jacket potato with cheese and beens cost £8.50 rather expensive and this was only an average sized potato. It is a captive market but the quality of the food was terrible and expensive. AVOID! Hope they sort this out before the UCI World Champs next August.
After a full day, of the weather finally being perfect enough to use the Gondola to explore the new Blue Doon MTB trail with the family, it was so disappointing to realise that the cafe shuts so early! Only half of our group were off the mountain by 4pm and suddenly to be told we were only just in time... some cake and drinks were hastily bought, something promised to the younger members of our group for riding so well, but actually not enough for the whole group as the youngest had not got to the cafe earlier as we had assumed. With the sun shining and the gondola still taking people to the top when it had been closed all week, surely they would want to be taking people's money but not so. The cake we had been able to buy, that was shared between us, was lovely! As was the tea and the bottles of local ale. But we really would like to understand the reasoning of closing so early! Is it a Scottish thing as we nearly missed the cafe at Wolftrax also... MTB riders look forward to a treat at the end of a ride why deny those that make the most of their day?
Absolutely shockingly poor quality of food. Dried sausage, egg and bacon that's been sitting on the hot plate far too long. Came with dry rolls. All of this (and a ginger beer and apple juice) for almost £14! More experienced staff on the till would see that the food was so dry. I love the whole area but the quality of the food and the cost was shocking.
