Pizzajo - Highland

I have to admit, we were fortunate to have Jo serve us her last freshly made pizzas before she had to turn away other customers. This place is truly a hidden gem. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is delicious. The service is welcoming and the pizza comes out hot and fresh from the oven. I tried the pulled pork pizza and it was amazing, I couldn't eat it fast enough. If you happen to be visiting the castle, make sure to stop by this restaurant. You can dine in or take your food to go, whichever option works best for you. I've included some photos of the restaurant, they were snapped before I could even take pictures of my food.

You can never go wrong with a Jo Pizza. In Donnie there are not many choices of where to eat on a Tuesday as both pubs in the village do not serve food on Tuesdays and traveling further really does not improve the options. Pizza Jo was the only option and that was not a bad thing. The menu is basic, but plentiful and meets everyone’s needs. I had the meat lovers, the wife the Calzone and our daughter had the Hawaiian and we all enjoyed them. The staff were great and talkative and welcoming. You can have a beer or a wine while you wait in a quirky garden where witches and fairies mingle… It’s a great place…. Don’t miss it.

After a long drive, we stumbled upon Pizzajo while searching for a place to eat. It is a charming little restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and delicious pizza. They only offer outdoor seating and takeaway options, but the pizza was exactly what we were looking for and satisfied our hunger.

I had an unexpected and fantastic experience at this restaurant. The staff were beautiful and kind, creating their own fairytale world. The pizza was standard but had a unique and delicious twist. I will definitely recommend this place without hesitation.
