The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..
We booked in advance for lunch at 12.30 pm and arrived to find the restaurant empty which is always a bit off putting. however once inside we were greeted in a friendly manner and perused the menu alongside the long list of specials. We both ate soup of the day which was a lovely cream of chicken and then I had the pie and my partner had a burger. Both meals appeared freshly cooked, were wholesome and plentiful. We enjoyed our lunch, it was one of the best lunches we had en route.(we tended to eat our main meal at lunchtime on our NC500 trip) It's a shame more people don't seem to know about this restaurant. It is advertised just before you cross the causeway before Tongue (if you are going clockwise).
I stopped in for lunch while out exploring for a fishing trip and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The restaurant is now sourcing their shellfish directly from local boats due to a decrease in post-Brexit exports to France. It was a very delicious and fresh meal, and it felt good to support the local fishermen. Well done to the team for making this change.
We ate here while staying at a B&B up the road on our North Coast 500 trip. Friendly welcome and service. Food was delicious and fresh, with generous portions. Covid measures were present which was good to see but didn’t ruin our evening. Would recommend the Lobster bisque if on the specials menu. Not many places to eat around so make sure to book in advance, especially while Covid restrictions in place
We called to make a reservation and were told we could have a table if we came right away, so we anticipated that the restaurant would be busy. However, when we arrived, there were only a few tables occupied and the rest were reserved for later. The menu had some nice options and the food was decent when it arrived, although there was a wait as the chef was preparing potatoes for chips. The atmosphere in the restaurant seemed lackadaisical, with staff appearing uninterested when new customers arrived. We overheard staff saying they couldn't imagine cooking food from scratch. In addition, we witnessed a mistake where a vegetarian diner was served a meat meal due to an incorrect order. The staff handled the situation poorly and we felt sorry for the diners at that table. Overall, the experience was disappointing.
