We had an incredible dinner at this restaurant. We were escorted to the lounge for drinks, then promptly served delicious appetizers before being seated at our table. Each course was delicious, made with fresh ingredients that tasted fantastic. The staff really enhanced our experience by bringing our drinks from the lounge, explaining each dish, and being extremely polite and friendly. They were more than just servers, they were a great team. If you find yourself in the Loch Ness area, this restaurant is a must-visit.
We called the brasserie and made a reservation just an hour in advance. We were pleasantly surprised to secure a booking 45 minutes after our arrival in Fort Augustus, which gave us time to take our dog for a walk and enjoy a few drinks at the bar. This was our first time dining at the brasserie, although we had previously eaten at the Station Road restaurant twice. Our expectations were high, and we were not disappointed. I started with 3 Oysters, while my wife opted for the Wild garlic Veloute. Both dishes were excellent. For our main course, we both chose the Pork belly and Fillet, which was also fantastic. This restaurant continues to impress and is definitely the top choice for fine dining in Fort Augustus.
We stayed at the Inn this past summer, and booked a dinner not knowing what to expect, and had not read any reviews. But it's with no exaggeration, one of the best dinning experiences we have had in newer time. Delicious creative dishes, served by a very motivated, friendly and professional staff. If we ever comes back... no, When we come to Scotland, we will dine here again. Well done and 5 stars
My beloved treated me for my birthday (as he knows this is my favourite restaurant locally and I have been bending his ear about how wonderful it is! . He was a little sceptical when he saw the pictures of the tasting menu because he loves his food (in quantity that would sink most . Well, what can I say except...a lovely welcome at reception, quickly seated and drinks ordered, thanks to the wonderfully attentive waiting staff (Josh, is a star and really knowledgeable of the menu . The amuse bouche. trio duck liver twiglet, Arbroath smokie gougeres and the trout/apple tartlet were an absolute explosion of flavour and a taster if things to come. The treacle bannock was served with an onion butter and a plain butter topped with Isle of Skye salt (amazing stuff and very moreish. (at this point hubby 's eye 's lit up and he became enthusiastic! . I had the Highland Beef for my main, he had the Halibut and mussels and both were exceptional and beautifully presented. The Lemon cheesecake (in a chocolate coating with blackcurrant sorbet was just delicious and a perfect, not too sweet or heavy, way to end the meal. I didn 't take pics (unfortunately but they do have some of the dishes on their Facebook and instagram pages. Tasting menus of this quality will never be cheaper but this was absolutely worth every penny. 3 AA rosettes is really an under estimate of Chef Kelly and the teams abilities! Thank you for a memorable evening and we will most definitely be back. P.s I 've made the bannock bread from the recipe given it 's amazing :
