I had Tan Chef on my wishlist for a while and finally had the opportunity to visit after a trip to Rutgers this week. The restaurant offers a rare combination of delicious, authentic dishes in a pleasant ambiance. We tried their mapo tofu, Bok Choy with garlic, fried fish, and a classic beef and paprika dish (whose exact name I can't recall) - and everything was delicious! The menu is extensive, with photos and descriptions in both English and Chinese. If I lived or worked closer, I would definitely visit more often. I look forward to returning in the near future.
This restaurant is a hidden treasure for those who love gourmet Chinese cuisine. Every dish was delicious, perfectly balanced. The restaurant is ideally situated on a corner on Highland Park's main street. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing a beautiful Chinese dining experience. Thank you.
This restaurant serves authentic Chinese cuisine with a focus on Hunan style. Every dish we sampled was delicious and made fresh to order.
