Emilio's Cantina - Highland

This was our first visit to this restaurant and the food was good. Our waitress, Jocelyn, was very sweet. We decided to stay for the DJ, DJ Jorio, but unfortunately he only played music catered to an older crowd. When we asked him to play genres that would appeal to a younger crowd, he seemed bothered and even came up to our group asking for specific song names. He continued to badger us for specific songs and artists, and even went as far as to tell my friends that we were killing the crowd with our music choices. We felt bullied by a DJ who didn't know how to read the crowd. We spoke to the management about the situation and expressed that we didn't feel welcomed. Despite the issue with the DJ, we still managed to have a good time. Overall, the experience was okay, but the DJ was not enjoyable.

The food was fantastic and our server Jocelyn was absolutely wonderful. However, the DJ Jorio was terrible. When we asked for some younger music, he seemed offended and told us we were ruining his dance floor instead of simply saying he doesn't take requests. It made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Despite this awkward encounter, the restaurant itself was lovely in every other aspect.

The food was average and could have used more seasoning. The drinks were disappointing as we ordered vodka cranberries but they tasted like plain juice with no vodka. The service was satisfactory. We came to this restaurant specifically for the entertainment and were pleased with the performance by Mandolyn and the Hunters Trio.

We had our Moms 60th/brothers birthday dinner party here and the service was great, the food was great and everyone enjoyed themselves. From the booking to the end of our night was smooth and everything was explained very well the night went smooth and our mom and brother had a great time. Will definitely book here again!

Great food and good live entertainment on the weekends .....Bar tenders are great.....
