The owner is an immigrant who has found success with their restaurant in Eastcote. Our server, Jay, did a good job despite being understaffed for the evening. The restaurant offers a great selection of spirits and wine, and the menu has a wide variety of vegan and gluten-free options. The only thing to be cautious of is confirming with the staff that their version of "mild" matches your expectations.
Turn off from the larger restaurant (same name in eastcote. all their Indonesian favorites are here in a less formal, cafe atmosphere. huh 65, ananas curry, lamps. and that lion stout (at 8.8%). very friendly service I recommend virundhu for another and delicious night out.
I had an ingenious eating here for my father's birthday! the service was amazing, our waiter took his time to go with us through the menu and even recommend some dishes. that was brilliant, and we'll be back soon.
The food was delicious and the service was friendly. I will definitely be returning. The Mutton Curry, rice, and paratha were exceptional and unique.
Went to Virundhu last night with a group of friends. To the uninitiated (like I was prior to my visit) this isn’t just another curry house that sells the same iterations of the standard English staples of chicken tikka masala etc. I apologise for my ignorance on this. The food is great, different (in a good way) and seriously tasty. Oh and the Lion lager is very nice too! I had the Chicken Kuthu Roti, seriously, Kuthu Roti, where have you been all my life? The tastes are clean and fresh and so damn good. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely decorated, the staff are friendly and attentive and the food is just great. I will be back!
